Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simão Botelho in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ian Gaspar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Silas Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dagoberto de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Kléber Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simão Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Gaspar having to interfere. Silas Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Ian Gaspar made a huge save. In the 21st minute, Jonathan Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Simão Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Vastar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simão Botelho couldn't finish the play. 32 minutes into the game, Simão Botelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vastar FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Athletic São Paulo the free kick. Simão Botelho hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Simão Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Gaspar having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silas Castro got free with Ian Gaspar in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 40 minutes, Simão Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vastar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simão Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kléber Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Peixoto in the 41st minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Simão Botelho made the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléber Reis having to interfere. In the 57thth minute of the game Silas Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Athletic São Paulo's Ian Gaspar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute, Simão Botelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ian Gaspar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 64 minutes into the match, Silas Castro notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Athletic São Paulo's Ian Gaspar. Ian Gaspar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Silas Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Botelho in the 70th minute of play forced Athletic São Paulo's goalkeeper Ian Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléber Reis having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Gustavo Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 76 minutes, Jonathan Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Athletic São Paulo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ian Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silas Castro in the 78th minute of the match. Simão Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Ian Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silas Castro took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ian Gaspar. Ian Gaspar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Gustavo Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Athletic São Paulo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
